space blog

SPACE has been in the news alot this past week as a fellow SKYDIVED from 24 miles up AND a new, DIAMOND planet was discovered...
Happy SPACE day!!!

A break from planet Earth today as we turn our eyes (and cameras) skyward...
Click on the month of your birthday on the link below-and scroll through some of NASA's photographic archives-

Is there one you like?

What is it of?

Describe it and state why it looks cool...

Or describe one you don't like and why it fails to impress you...

Or do both,
Does the one on your birthday have any mystical connection with YOU?

The link is here:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/calendar/allyears.html

HEY HEY!!!
THIS is the last blog before I grade them for the MIDTERM GRADE- it would be a GREAT IDEA to scroll back through the past ones and MAKE UP any blogs you may have missed- remember- they are worth about 3 points each- so that can really add up!!!

The one I really like is this one with a whole bunch of stars just covering the entire picture. It's just amazing because I never would've thought you could get such a awesome picture. The one with The Perseid Meteor Shower because it's nothing with a wow factor.

There is one photo I like that is a picture of the rings of Jupiter. The picture show some darkish red rings in a vast blackness of space. The date happens to be on my birthday as well.

The one I think is on my birthday and it is of a spaceship taking off. The flames are coming out of the back end of the spaceship and its still on the platform. It just looks cool because you don't always see pictures of a spaceship lifting off into space.

I like most of them because they are all colorful! I like all of them and was like wow someone can actually capture those they must love to take pictures! I love how it shows that movement! I don't really like how all of them are kinda similar and how they show the same thing just different colors! Well i couldn't use my birthday because they didnt have it so i went the next year and theres nothing really magical about it.

some of these pictures are super colorful and that's awesome. But some of these pictures are also very dull, which is not so cool. The one on my birthday is kind of lame, its of the moon and has like a bird or something in the background.

I like the one with the blue spiral galaxy gallery. It's a picture of a galaxy that I think is really cool looking. This was one of the only one's that I liked on the page of April 1996.

The one I like is in March and it's very colorful. It's red and black and has stars everywhere. The one I don't like is The First 6 Billion Miles. I mostly like all the pictures though.

i like October 28th 1999. its of an x-ray jet. they don't have the year 1994 , so i just picked one. it looks cool, because of the random star-burning flame type look. I don't like October 28th 1995 , because it is just a rocket taking off. I don't know if i have a connection with my birthday, because they don't have it .

I like the one on March 5th, 1997 because its on my birthday. I think it looks cool because it is really sparkly and bright. It also has pink in it which makes it even better.

I really like the photo from November 12, 2011 of a cosmo. The colors are amazing and it looks so beautiful. My least favorite picture is from November 21, 2009 because it is so edited that it almost looks fake.

The on I like is the photo from December 17th, 2009. This is a picture of a fireball meteor. It shows a bright meteor above a desert and I think this is cool because it almost looks fake because of how perfect and vibrant it is in the sky. i don't think that the one on my birthday is very special, it's just a picture of Mariner's Mercury and it is quite boring.

I like the one of the Solar Corona Ejection. It was of the sun releasing gas that are like a solar flare but not as intense. I like how it looks like the sun is shooting beams or rays of hot sun gasses and other solar stuff.

I find them all pretty interesting, so I can't really choose what one I like. The one I probably don't like is the one May 14 the Ring Nebula because something just doesn't catch my eye. The one on my birthday just looks dead and dry, I don't really find a connection with it.

One picture i really liked was the picture taken October 5, 2012. This picture really caught my eye because it is a picture taken from earth and could easily be seen with the naked eye. I really like how you could see all the different scenery such as the water, the rocks, the stars, the colors of outer space!

I really like "water world" under November 1995. It's a really interesting picture of Alaska. I don't really know what it is about this, but it really just made me step back and go "Wow, that's the planet I live on." Pictures like the ones on this website are really enlightening!
