FROZEN nature photos

Check out the 23 pics at this link-

http://www.treehugger.com/galleries/2009/03/the-most-beautiful-waves-ever.php?page=1

Not only is this NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY (natural water shots), but it also illustrates how a SERIES of photos (like your final project) on the same theme can really stand as a powerful collection of work...

So... the problem is...

We have seen soooooooooooo many nature photographs, it is really hard to capture a unique image that makes someone take notice.

Clark Little does this by photographing a natural phenomenon we've all seen before- but he does it in a cool way.

What are some problems he might have with his method?

Would you ever buy a BOOK of nature pictures? What sort of natural phenomenon would YOU BUY A BOOK ABOUT? (personally, I am into volcanoes)

What aspect of nature could/would YOU want to travel around and photograph (other than waves)???

What are some ways, other than book sales, that he could make money off of these pictures???

I wouldn't buy a book of nature pictures, but if I did, it would have to be one of the Amazon and other rainforests. The one aspect of nature that interests me, would have to be wildlife and forests. One way he could make money, is to involve the picture in advertising, meaning the picture would spread to a wider audience.

One problem you he might have with his method is not taking the picture at the right moment. I am not sure if I would buy a book of nature photo's. If I did buy a book of nature it would probably be of those really cool rocks that have the different colors on the inside.

Some problems that he might have are being able to take the photos and being about to snap the picture at the right time. I wouldnt buy a nature book, but if I did then I would but one of snowy mountains. I would travel around to take pictures of all the mountains around the world. You could make money by selling these as pictures for peoples houses or offices.

I would definitely buy a book full of nature pictures. Another way that he could make money is that he could sell his photo's to national geographic or other magazines, news agencies, or scientists. A problem he might have is that there are only a few places in the world that make waves like this and have good weather at the same time.

some problems you might have is getting the camera wet, or people stealing your photos (off the internet). I would not buy a book of nature pictures , unless it was animals too. I would love to travel around and capture the sunset. your could make calendars, or cards to help sell these photos.

This method would probably be really hard to do, all things considered! I would probably buy a book of nature pictures, just because I like looking at stuff like that, and it would probably have something to do with small things like.. dew on flowers or dirt close up or something. Interesting. And unnoticed. Something I would photograph would be droplettes! like when it rains or when a sink is leaky. Calendar's probably make a pretty penny with nature shots.

Some problems he might have with this method is timing the picture. The waves come and go so fast so he has to always be ready. I love the wave pictures. It makes me want to go back to Hawaii so bad! I would want to travel around and capture pictures of animals in Africa. Some other ways to make money off of these pictures are to make calendars, posters, and murals with them.

Some problems he might phase is sharks in the waves or getting hit down by a wave. I wouldn't buy a book of nature pictures because spending money on that win you can just look on the internet for free, but they are really pretty. If I traveled and photographed nature I would want to take pictures of the surrounding areas that are pretty, I guess.

He might have problems of not taking the picture at the right moment. I might buy a picture of nature if it was about animals and their habitat and stuff. If I could travel around and take pictures of anything I would take pictures of wildlife in the woods or the forest. He could make money off these pictures by selling them.

I would not buy a book of nature pictures. One issue is that he may take the picture at the wrong time. I would buy a book about rainforests. I would travel to the worlds oceans to take pictures of the different wildlife there. He could make them into pictures to hang in peoples houses.

I wouldn't buy a nature book, but if I did it would be of tsunamis, hurricanes, things like that. I would love to photograph animals in their natural habitat, like forest or jungles. He could make money off these pictures by selling them to a magazine like National Geographic, or by using them to help promote vacation sites or something

Clark may have problems because he has to make sure he takes the picture at the perfect timing. If i was to buy a book of nature photography im not sure what types of scenes i would like. If i were to photograph nature it would probably be water settings.

I wouldn't buy a book of nature photos, because that gets boring to look at after a while. I would want to travel to the rainforest and take pictures of all the exotic animals, that would be so cool and actually interesting to look at. He could sell the pictures to magazines, and make money.

One problem Clark might face is being unable to capture a shot at the right moment. I wouldn't ever bug a book of nature pictures. If I had to buy a book on a natural phenomenon it would probably be about conserving water or saving endangered species. I would like to travel the world and photograph different countries to focus on water that countries don't have access to. Some ways that Clark could make money off his pictures would be to sell them to museums or to auction them off to people willing to buy them to raise money.

no i would never buy a book with nature pictures in it. i would buy a book about animal medicine and veterinary care. one thing in nature that i would want to travel around and take pictures of is probably un-domesticated animals. he could send them to national geographic or print them on canvas and sell them.

i problem i can foresee him having is when the wave hits him he could lose the camera in the water. If i was to buy a book of nature photos, I'd want it to be filled with animals. they're so much more fun to look at then plants. I personally love taking pictures of trees. It sounds pretty lame but i love it.

Getting the right place at the right time to even surf one of these waves is hard, but taking a focused picture, it just seems so hard. I would take pictures of the melting sea ice, it would be really symbolic in an attempt to get a message across. Someone could make posters out of these, I wouldn't mind waking up to this in the morning.

Some problems might be getting a really good picture in the first place! It sounds like a problem already just trying to get the perfect angle of the wave and a bit of the landscape in the background. I personally would buy a book of natural pictures because i believe pictures often captures a very special moment we often don't notice. I would buy a book about underwater tornados. Somewhere i would go for pictures of nature would be to the oregon coast just because i believe we can never get enough from our coast. You could sell pictures to magazines or ads.

I think it would be very hard to actually get a picture like those pictures. Because timing waves would be pretty hard because they are pretty fast, and it would be hard to focus on each wave. Clark Little's method of photographing things that we have all seen but doing it in a 'cool way' is that he has to take the PERFECT shot, nothing can be messed up or else it will be just as the rest. It would be way more difficult to have to take pictures everyone see's in a different and unique way. But its cool that he is willing to take the challenge.

A problem could be getting another really good shot. I wouldn't buy a nature picture book, but if I got it as a gift I wouldn't be totally disappointed. I would want to take pictures under water of like fish. That'd be real cool. He could post these pictures on the internet to make money.

Some problems you may face while taking these pictures is damage to the camera or the person. Also sometimes you can stand there and take them other times you can only get the shot once. I would buy nature photography book only if it also had facts or notes on the pictures. An example would be pictures of the Teta Trench with a side note saying how deep it is or what lives in it. I would want to travel around and take pictures of caves, hills or ravines.

So many surf and vacation magazines use photos of water and waves so clearly if youre going to photograph waves you have to be good at it. Clark Little uses the sun and natural lighting to make his photos so much better. If I were to buy a book of nature pictures it would be of coral reefs and exotic fish because the colors are sureal and I definitely cant see that everyday. Not even by visiting the pet store. I would want to photograph jungles and exotic animals because then I could show other people what is really out there. Clark Little doesnt need to only sell his pictures in books, he could also sell post cards, make a magazine like National Geographic or do advertisements.
