TEXT assignment #4

Ransom Name.

Spell out your name from PHOTOS.

PHOTOS not word fonts- see above.

ONE of your images must be an implied letter... That means it is not a letter- but LOOKS LIKE a letter... This can be found on the internet, but, depending on your name and ingenuity- it might just be EASIER to take the photo yourself... YOU decide...

IT SHOULD BE ALL nice and clean and similar sized like my example above- you'll need to use the CANVAS SIZE tool and maybe the clone or paint tools to edit your images- NO LITTLE edges of other letters should be in/on your letter!

This goes in your TEXT WEEK album in PhotoBucket- and DON'T forget to fill out an EVALUATION SHEET when you have completed all 4 text week projects....

Thank you buddy.

TEXT EXTra CREDit #4

Arrange items to spell out the NAME of the ITEMS you are using.

(don't do these example ones)
Arrange pencils to spell the word PENCIL.

Arrange your pocket change to spell MONEY.

or

Get creative and use PHOTOshop's Infinite Clone to spell out the word FRIEND using a ton of cloned pictures of your best buddy...

AWWWWWW......

Post this in your TEXT WEEK album- mention it on the Evaluation Sheet you do for TEXT WEEK today... This ex.cred it worth 10 hot, sweet, salty points!!!

TEXT #3- Motivational Poster

Today's TEXT assignment is creating a Motivational Poster AND a deMotivational Poster.

You see these things ALL OVER the internet... All over your dentist's office... All over the insides of your eyelids.

They can be inspirational and SINCERE- (click here)

Or sarcastic and contain cutting humor (click this)

Which do you like better?

ONE of yours needs to be MOTIVATIONAL and contain a positive message.

... the OTHER ONE can be deMOTIVATIONAL and on the funny side.

ONE of the above two needs to use ONE OF YOUR photos, the other one can
use an internet image.

THE TEXT can be taken from another poster (we call it 'appropriation' in the art world) or created NEW by YOU- if you're a clever, original person!!!

I will be showing people how to create these in PHOTOSHOP, but if you made a cube, you can use THIS SITE to make them, too!!!

MY tEX(tra credit) GIRLFRIEND

here is the senior shirt this year.

FOR 5 points of extra credit, come up with a NEW slogan for a senior shirt-

and REPLACE THE TEXT on this image with YOUR PHRASE.

POST it in your TEXT WEEK album, mention it on your end-of-the-week evaluation sheet- and rake it the extra credit...

LET IT RAIN!!!!

QUOTE text #2

You will be inserting a QUOTE into a photograph.

Not just into the background or floating in the sky- but in
AN APPROPRIATE location
for text to be found.

SUCH AS:
an ANTI-War quote typed onto a protester's sign.

an EDUCATION quote on the page of a book a child is reading.

a STRENGTH quote on the sweatshirt of a person lifting weights.

a NATURE quote on a stump in an area being clear-cut.

You CAN use an internet image (or you can take one) for this assignment.

Here are some links to find a quote by subject:

http://www.brainyquote.com/

http://quotes.dictionary.com

http://www.quotationspage.com/

Your QUOTE must be ATTRIBUTED!!!

Meaning the NAME OF THE PERSON WHO SAID it must be typed underneath and to the left of the quote somewhere...

NO CREDIT FOR ANONYMOUS QUOTES!

TEXTra CREDIT

Replace the text of a sign.

HOW TO:
Find a pic of a sign.

Use clone stamp to erase the text on sign.

Use APPROPRIATE/matching font-color-size text to RE-WRITE your own message on the sign.

Post in your TEXT WEEK album on PhotoBucket.

Enjoy 10 points extra credit.

(make sure you 'mention' it on your evaluation sheet at the end of text week...)

TEXT WEEK assignment 1

DEFINE A WORD with an IMAGE

In this project, you will be inserting a SINGLE WORD into an IMAGE in a way that the WORD is enhanced/explained by the image it accompanies.

WHAT will YOUR word be?
Steer clear of super simple words like LOVE and HATE, think of something more complex, use an online THESAURUS to find a synonym of a word if you think it's too simple.

Think about an image that would help to EXPLAIN the word and also think about word placement- WHERE ON THE IMAGE is the most appropriate PLACE for the word?

Remember- you will be doing this with one of YOUR OWN IMAGES!!! You'll need to take a SINGLE PHOTO just for this assignment...

TWO MORE considerations are the FONT style and the COLOR of the word... the word INVINCIBLE written on the side of a HUGE monster TRUCK might not be appropriately done with a swirly cursive font in light, neon orange color...

All of the MINI-TEXT-WEEK assignments go in your TEXT WEEK album on PhotoBucket- Only fill out an Evaluation Sheet when you are done with all 4 projects and they are all in your PhotoBucket.

ONE EVAL SHEET FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK!!!!
(just like the COLOR WEEK...)
Each TEXT WEEK project
is worth 5 points-

making this week
worth 20 points
total!!!

Due Nov. 21st.!!!!

!!!!
!!!

Fake Hurricane Sandy Pics

This is what we face.

A future where, within hours of ANY major news event, people with PhotoShop FLOOD the internet with faked photos of said event.

Can we believe our eyes anymore?

How do we know that the latest picture someone posted on FaceBook is what actually happened?
CHECK this link OUT!!!

Are any of these BELIEVABLE or CONVINCING?

Can you see any problems with people taking this type of action?

Can you see any BENEFIT resulting from people doing this???
